Mexico Beach: After the Storm

When Hurricane Michael hit Mexico Beach, Florida, it left behind more than wreckage. It left a town asking the same question every community faces after disaster: “How do we rebuild?”

Season 6 of American Plumber Stories opens with that question. The answer comes from the people who stayed, returned, supplied, repaired, roughed in, and rebuilt - one jobsite at a time.

The episode features Josh McKoy, owner of McKoy Plumbing, and Devin Sisson, branch manager at Southern Pipe & Supply, along with residents and local voices who lived through the damage and helped push the community forward. Their stories show the unglamorous but essential side of recovery: getting water back on, making homes livable, reopening businesses, and giving families a reason to believe the town could come back.

That is the heart of American Plumber Stories. Plumbing is not just a trade people call when something breaks. It is part of the backbone of every community. When the storm is over, the work begins - and the trades are right there in the middle of it.

Mexico Beach is a reminder that skilled trades are not just about tools, trucks, and pipe. They are about resilience, problem-solving, and pride in doing work that matters.
