Adam Rotherham: American Plumber Story

Meet Adam Rotherham from Down Under Drainage Inc..
Read his American Plumber story!
How did you get started in the plumbing trade?
I started in 1994 with a 6 year plumbing apprenticeship in Sydney, Australia. I then moved to London, UK in 2011 and now in California where I've been for the last 7.5 years (since 2014).
What do you like most about your work as a plumber?
I really developed skills that are transferable across a wide range of applications. It has enabled me to work in 3 continents over the past 29 years. It is challenging mentally, physically and emotionally.
What advice do you have for the younger generation entering the plumbing trade?
Plumbing is an exceptional trade. Find an employer who values you and is ready and willing to spend the time and resources to train you. My dad told me when I was 15 that if I became a plumber I would never be out of work. I turn 44 in February and I HAVE NEVER BEEN WITHOUT WORK!
