Meet Derrick Castorina from Service Stars
Read his American Plumber story!
How did you get started in the plumbing trade?
I went to a technical high school. We had to go through all the shops and I was actually planning on taking automotive. While going through the plumbing shop the teacher gave me some advice not to put all my eggs in one basket. I had family members who were in carpentry and automotive. So I chose to learn something that I couldn’t learn from my family.
What do you like most about your work as a plumber?
I enjoy taking a pile of parts and turning them into a functioning system, as well as the accomplishment of resolving someone’s ongoing issues that someone else couldn’t solve.
What advice do you have for the younger generation entering the plumbing trade?
Take pride in your work and be honest with customers.
