Gage Pilgrim: American Plumber Stories

Read his American Plumber story!

How did you get started in the plumbing trade?

Worked as an electrician apprentice at my family company, started when I was 16. At 21 went into the commercial plumbing and hvac world. Learned a lot there and then left to go to a smaller company doing plumbing, hvac, and electric. And then getting my master plumbing license this year!

What do you like most about your work as a plumber?

I love finding the problems with service calls. And the satisfaction of seeing a new sewer main take place of an older system.

What advice do you have for the younger generation entering the plumbing trade?

Pay attention to the older guys. They have all the tricks and tips from all the years they’ve been doing it, and never be afraid to learn! Everyone can always be taught something new!
